WHO WE ARE

Treasures In Earthen Jars is a faith-based, non-profit organization that currently provides services to disadvantaged impoverished people in the East Flatbush, Flatlands, Canarsie, Midwood, and Mill Basin sections of Brooklyn

FOOD PANTRY

PURPOSE-DRIVEN & VISIONARY

Incorporated in 2019, the organization has been providing social and behavioral support to our community for a long time. We simply helped our neighbors, because we believed that is what we are called for. However, to partner with other organizations and getting more support, incorporating the organization was necessary and required to secure help and make a greater impact.

The main purpose of the organization is to bridge the socio-economic and cultural gap by supporting our fellow brothers and sisters in need of comprehensive social services that are too often not readily available in our neighborhoods and may not be adequate to meet the cultural, social and language need of our community that is mainly composed of individuals from foreign countries with all sorts of barriers.. As members of the community, we have seen firsthand the socio-economic, cultural challenges and collective pain experienced by these marginalized groups and vow to put our resources together to help our neighbors the best we can.

TIEJ, though small, we recognize the severity of the socio-economic and educational poverty that exist in these impoverished sections of Brooklyn and have offered a comprehensive approach rooted in community assistance and support to economically and educationally diverse families.

DIVERSE AND TALENTED PEOPLE COMMITED TO FIGHTING POVERTY & INJUSTICES

The leadership at TIEJ offers a broad range of socio-emotional, language and educational support to communicate in a language familiar to our constituents. The TIEJ team consists of compassionate professionals: social workers, school psychologists, retired NYPD detective, religious leaders, as well as an educator who volunteer and share their expertise to serve and support a hard-to-reach niche of immigrants and residents who are uninformed about available resources and perhaps fearful to seek information because of their immigration status.

OUR MISSION

TIEJ seeks to be the organization that feeds those in need and educate our neighbors on healthy, nutritional and emotional habits for their spiritual and physical well being.

OUR VISION

Building a Community that is nourished physically, emotionally and spiritually.

V. We believe that our commitment to excellence ensures the highest quality services for our clients today and the resources to sustain them in the future.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

We Believe In:
Being an organization of faith and place faith at the core of everything we do. That food is a right and not a privilege. In nourishing our community in body, mind and spirit. In creating a servant-hearted community by offering a helping hand to those in need.   That the opportunity to serve is a gift. In abundance, all is given to us as a gift, and through the beauty of sharing we will all have enough. In a culture of philanthropy, and through the generous sharing of our gifts and talents we build up one another and our community. Everyone is a treasure that must be discovered, cared for and encouraged to reach their potential. By working together, we will achieve more and be an equitable community.
